About Us

Welcome to Heirloom Oak, formally, The Hardwood Floor Store, a distinguished multigenerational wood flooring company nestled in Bergen County, New Jersey.

Our story spans three generations starting with the late Paul Phykitt, whose expertise in both hardwood flooring and carpentry laid the foundation for our legacy. Mentored by his father-in-law, Dave Paparoski embarked on his own venture in the early 1980s, etching his mark in the industry.  Travis Paparoski started working with his father at the age 13. Growing up and learning on job sites allowed Travis to learn not only the family flooring business but the true artistry behind wood working and what it takes to carry on the cherished family tradition.

Travis now diligently serves clients across northern New Jersey. Travis is involved with patrons every step of the way, from the design process to sanding and staining, to the final walk through.  Many find reassurance in knowing the individuals who will grace their homes and this is something you can always count on with Heirloom Oak.

Travis Paparoski embarked on his flooring journey in a manner akin to many, joining his father and grandfather in their work. Yet, it swiftly became evident that Travis possessed an exceptional dedication and an acute eye for detail, elevating projects to new heights. Accumulating over two decades of experience, Travis has not only refined his craft to guarantee clients receive superlative workmanship but has also mastered the art of adeptly steering clients through the refinishing process.
